Public Alert: Serious Crew Fraud by Sailorsmarina Solutions Indus Pvt Ltd As the CEO of VVS Ship Management Pte Ltd (Singapore), I am compelled to bring to public and regulatory attention a serious case of unethical and fraudulent practices committed by Sailorsmarina Solutions Indus Private Limited, involving the deliberate exploitation of seafarers and deception of shipowners. Summary of Fraudulent Activity This company orchestrated one of the most blatant cases of crew contract fraud we have encountered in our 15 years of operations: Dual Contract Manipulation: Each seafarer was made to sign two contracts: One with the actual negotiated salary (Amount A). Another with an inflated salary (Amount 2A) intended solely to mislead the shipowner/client. The inflated contracts were used to bill VVS Ship Management and other clients. Seafarers, however, were paid based only on the lower contract value (Amount A), while Sailorsmarina pocketed the difference. This manipulation not only defrauds the shipowner but also cheats the very seafarers who put their lives at sea under good faith. Evidence Submitted We have documentary evidence of three such contracts and have officially submitted a complaint to DG Shipping along with supporting proof. A seafarer also had the courage to independently escalate the matter, though the company appears to have used connections to avoid action thus far. Individuals Involved Mr. Sanjaya Kumar Barik, listed as Director, fraudulently claims the title of "Captain" despite having only worked as a rating under our employment. Mr. Nihar Ranjan Kar, another Director, was also a former employee of VVS. He colluded with Mr. Barik to defraud both seafarers and our company. He is also a All India Bar Council member and yet holds an executive role in the Sailorsmarina Solutions, as is appraently visible. Ships Affected The vessel Queen Rinas was directly affected. We have strong reason to believe similar practices were conducted for another vessel (Raj Rani) managed by our sister concern, Patsloke Trading & Shipping Pte Ltd. Appeal to Affected Seafarers We are in possession of the full list of 63 seafarers employed under these contracts and urge any crew member who was asked to sign two contracts for Queen Rinas or any other vessel managed by Sailorsmarina to come forward and share their documentation. Important: If you remain silent while being aware of the fraud, it may reflect complicity. Reporting the truth helps uphold your rights and supports industry integrity. VVS Commitment Let me categorically state that VVS Ship Management has never charged any placement or indirect fees from seafarers—a core principle we have upheld since our inception. We remain committed to fair, transparent, and ethical crew management. Conclusion & Call to Action This is not just a contractual breach—it is a betrayal of trust and an exploitation of vulnerable maritime professionals. Sailorsmarina Solutions Indus Pvt Ltd must be held accountable. We appeal to DG Shipping, maritime authorities, unions, and fellow industry leaders to act decisively to prevent such operators from continuing to harm seafarers and tarnish the reputation of our industry.
